A chance to revive old memories at Marlipins Museum
Wednesday 16th March 2005, 11.00 - 16.00

Marlipins Museum will open at the Middle Street entrance at 11 am when coffee will be served.
11.15 David Tait, a local enthusiast and excellent speaker, will speak on Bungalow Town. He has slides and tapes of old Music Hall stars, to set the scene for the day.
12.15 presentation of the material in theWest Sussex Record Office, showing the actual films that have survived.

Break for lunch (not provided, but people are welcome to bring packed lunches etc)

2.00 Frank Gray of the South East Film and Video Archive will talk on the Shoreham Studios and their British context

After that we throw the meeting open to the floor and encourage those present to share their reminiscences, either primary or secondary.
Frank Spring's grand-daughter is coming down from Warwickshire and she has memories of her mother's starring film roles and other family stories. A Shoreham enthusiast, John Payne, has three models of the film studios and will bring his scrapbook and a tape of his interview with Joan Morgan, who also features in the Museum's "Showman's Dream". We hope others will come along too if they have memories to share.

The meeting will close at 4pm.

The Thru'penny Bit has been Demolished

The Thru'penny Bit has been demolished and this is the first time I have noticed. I had not been to Kingston Beach since October 2004 though.

This was unusual for me.
